The fun summer English camp – “Rockin`English” has already become a tradition at PINK. For the fourth consecutive year we organized a weekly program for the children from Tran, Peshtera and Pernik, and this year the topic of the educational process was “Water World”. The program was prepared entirely around the topic of seas, oceans and aquatic life.
As with previous years, our days would begin with a song, then a fun lesson and learning words, crafts, followed by games and snacks. The total number of children who participated in this year’s Rockin’English was forty-five. Due to the pandemic the number of children had to be limited and all safety instructions had to be followed. All distancing and preventative measured where observed and we are happy to report there were no issues.
The level of English varies with children from different cities. In Tran, about 80% of the children attending school in the city do not study English. Only two classes in the school learn this language. During the lessons in Tran, there were children who don’t learn English in school but they were very good at reading, pronouncing and remembering words.
In Pernik and Peshtera the school teaching in English is at a higher level, which made the process very easy and pleasant for everyone. Everyone’s favorite activity was the craft. On the last day of Rockin’English, there was a Hawaiian party, the kids had a banana-split as a treat, there was themed music and dancing.
